• How long does bathtub refinishing take?

  The refinishing process usually takes about 2 to 3 hours for reglazing just a bathtub. Reglazing the alcove walls can add an additional 2 hours. Your bathtub will be ready to use again in 24 to 48 hours, depending on drying and curing time.

• How long does a reglazed bathtub last?

  A professionally refinished bathtub by TubKote can last 12 to 15 years with proper care. Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid harsh chemicals and cleaning powders to maintain the finish.

• What types of bathtubs can be reglazed?

  We refinish cast iron (porcelain), steel, fiberglass, acrylic, and even clawfoot bathtubs. Most tubs are good candidates as long as they are structurally sound.

• Can you repair chips, cracks, or rust before refinishing?

  Yes! TubKote can repair chips, scratches, and rust damage before applying the new coating to ensure a smooth and flawless finish. Repairing cracks and holes in fiberglass or acrylic tubs and showers is also a large part of our business as well.

• Is bathtub refinishing safe for my home, kids, or pets?

  Tubkote uses low-VOC, EPA-compliant coatings and proper ventilation. Once cured, the surface is non-toxic and safe for the entire family.

• Will there be strong odors during the reglazing process?

  There may be some odor during application, but we use a robust exhaust system to ventilate the area. Odors typically disappear within a few hours.

• What colors are available for bathtub reglazing?

  White is the most popular finish, but we offer custom color options to match your bathroom design. Ask us about color matching during your consultation.

• Can you also refinish bathroom tile, sinks or countertops?

  Yes! We refinish bathroom wall tile. Usually, it is more cost effective to replace, rather than reglaze, small bathroom sinks and countertops.
